Q1.  How does it work?

Firstly, it's important that we meet for  Pre-Session & Planning Consultation (for the time-challenged or distance clients, I'm happy to do a pre-session via Skype).  I believe a personal approach is important for me to understand exactly what you want and that we are both on the same page.  It's also important that you and I connect and you feel comfortable with me, because the more comfortable and relaxed you are, the better the outcome and more beautiful, natural and spontaneous your photos will be.

It's also a time for us to plan how you want your images displayed and how you want to remember them.  So we discuss your home decor, personal tastes and look at products to suit your home and style.

Q2. What is the Process?

There are four (4) stages in the entire process:

  1. Pre-Session & Planning Consultation - discuss details of your shoot or event, your personal style and home decor & look at home display options and products
  2. Photo Shoot - Portrait , Wedding, Documentary Session or Event
  3. Viewing Session; Print and Product order - in-person viewing of your finished images, and ordering of prints and products
  4. Personal Delivery of your Prints and/or Products (excepting distance clients)

Q3. What Do I/We Wear for a Session or event?

To create images that are truly beautiful, attention-to-detail and a little forethought goes a long way.  Whether you're doing casual outdoor lifestyle photos, documentary-style, stylised or  an engagement shoot, pre-planning is vital to ensuring we create the right look and feel, and deliver images you'll love. Documentary sessions are 'come as you are' and authenticity is the key to success in these sessions.

As part of your Pre-Session & Planning Consultation, I'll give you some hints and tips on What to Wear and provide some visual examples of styles of dress, props (if applicable) and accessories that will help to achieve the look you would like. I am also happy to provide you with referrals for hair and make-up (optional).

The general rule of thumb is to stick with solid colours and avoid bold prints and patterns.  Also aim for complimentary colours rather than matching.

Q4.  How Much Should I Expect to Spend?

Pricing for portrait and other sessions includes my expertise as a photographer (for Weddings, see 'Package & Pricing'). Prints, products and  collections are purchased in addition to the session and we  discuss at your Pre-Session and Planning Consultation how you would like your images to be displayed and remembered. Because every session and/or wedding is different, I don't set a limit on the number of images and all images are professionally edited and are individually and artistically enhanced  and presented at your viewing session.

Q5.  What Do I Need to Bring to a Portrait Session?

Depending on the shoot, whether it's a stylised or casual outdoor shoot and whether you are a family with children and/or pets, you're welcome to bring your own props or personal items you think you'd like to include in the session.

If there are children and/or pets, bring snacks and drinks, a change of clothes and their favourite toys or activities to keep them engaged and interacting.  For families, if you have sporting equipment, games, books or anything that you do as a family that you think is relevant for the shoot, I encourage you to bring them.  And lastly, in Australia, it's always a good idea to bring insect repellant!
