"The most beautiful word on the lips of mankind is the word 'Mother', and the most beautiful call is the call of 'My mother'. It is a word full of hope and love, a sweet and kind word coming from the depths of the heart. The mother is everything - she is our consolation in sorrow, our hope in misery, and our strength in weakness. She is the source of love, mercy, sympathy, and forgiveness..."
~ Kahlil Gibran
After two reschedules, finally the day came for our planned 'Mother and Daughter' photo shoot with Mel and her daughter Chloe. The weather was just so beautiful, except we hadn't counted on a strong cool breeze that played a little havoc with hair and a cold little girl. If you've ever photographed portraits outdoors, you will understand my pain. Soft, flowing hair is beautiful - I love movement in images. But blowing is another matter. Still, there is something beautiful about a little 'imperfect'. I think if something looks too perfect, it's just not as believable. For me, getting the right mix of artistic and beautiful, yet keeping images embued with natural emotion and authenticity is really important.
So here a few teaser images from yesterday's photo shoot. I hope you enjoy them. And remember to share this post with family and friends who you think may also enjoy them.
Have a wonderful day and weekend! :)
* P.S. A special thank you must go out to my amazing sister, Carol, who was my assistant on this shoot. And also to the equally amazing, Jane from Bloomin' Marvellous in Beenleigh for the gorgeous head garlands!
